We are happy to announce about a new project initiated by “AKUNQ” Charity Foundation for “Sunny Kids” Center for Health and Development, in the scope of “Special Children” program. “Sunny Kids” is a center that supports children with Down syndrome and their families. All collected funds will go to “Sunny Kids” to help pay for the center’s needs.

We thank our friends, donors and sponsors in advance for the support and for being part of our initiative.

The Center conducts its activities in the following areas:

• Medical services for all children for whom these services are unavailable, but vitally necessary. These are primarily children living in special institutions, as well as children from socially disadvantaged and dysfunctional families.
• Social-psychological services for both children and their families. The purpose of psychological aid and psychiatric support to children with ADD is to facilitate their social and psychological adaptation. Psychological meetings are held for family members to develop their parenting skills, share experiences through self-help groups and provide psychological support.
• Educational Outreach: the main goal is to inform the public about the specifics of Down syndrome, to reduce and eliminate stigma and prejudice against these children/people, and to ensure public involvement, respect and concern for “others”.
• Advocacy: this group is made up of parents who, faced with many problems in different areas, are willing to dialogue, collaborate and make proposals to various government bodies for joint and best decision making.
